Crunchyroll FAQ:Approving Music
From WikiRoll
Contents |
General Information
- Do not place comments such as 'This is a kawaii PV'. Only place relevant information (concert dates, concert place, translations, etc). When the video was produced, whether it was a cover, which single/album the song came from, etc are not pieces of information that should be contained within the description. That sort of information should be contained on the artist's page on the Wikiroll.
- Do not approve anything from outside of East Asia.
- Do not approve any videos subbed by a restricted fansub group. List: http://www.crunchyroll.com/showforumtopic?id=7503
- Do not approve any Chinese, Korean, or Japanese artists music videos, performances, or extra videos under the .flv format. (indie rock bands are exceptions)
- Replace any videos if another with better quality (video, audio, subtitles) is uploaded.
- Do not remove the original music video if a subtitled version is uploaded, keep them both. However, replace any extra videos if a subtitled version is uploaded.
- Always go by the western format. Meaning use the singer's English name (if they have one) and putting the first name first, last name last. For example: Ayumi Hamasaki, rather than Hamasaki Ayumi and Ariel Lin, rather than Lin Yi Chen.
- Always use the English translation of a song name in the title. If no translation is provided, but has the Romanji or Pinyin, use that next. If no Enlgish translation or Romanji/Pinyin is provided, just use the remaining title. English > Romanji/Pinyin > Japanese, Chinese, Korean Characters

- Search to see if the band/artist isn't already on CR with an alternative name
- Add the new artist/band to the Wiki music page in alphabetical order
- Avoid using punctuations in the folder name, they make the folder hard to search for since the punctuation marks mess up the search engine (the apostrophe is the worst enemy)
