Guideline for Uploading Anime

DO NOT UPLOAD
Before uploading anything anything, please make sure your video is not:
- Licensed in the U.S.
- Related to any series licensed by FUNimation (even if it is not licensed itself)
- Subtitled by Dattebayo [DB]
TV Series
Currently Existing Series
The Uploading Form
Video Type: Anime
Title: Episode #
- Replace # with the number of the episode you are uploading. For example, if you are uploading Serial Experiments Lain 2, your title should be "Episode 2"
- If you are uploading a replacement, include [Replacement] after the "Episode #".
Video Folder: CR series title
- Enter the title of the series as it is spelled on CR. This ensures that the system chooses the right series for your folder every time.
Episode Number: #
- Replace # with the number of the episode you are uploading. For example, if you are uploading Serial Experiments Lain 3, your episode number should be "3"
Description: "..."
- If you are uploading a replacement, state the reason for the replacement here.
- If you are not uploading a replacement, enter the title of the episode or leave it blank. Do NOT write "Episode #".
Tags: Leave blank
- Just don't do it.
New Series
The Uploading Form
Video Type: Anime
Title: Series Title - Episode 1
- It is recommended that you use the series title that AnimeNewsNetwork uses.
- When using the series title that AnimeNewsNetwork uses, omit the "(TV)", "(TV 2)", etc.
Video Folder: Leave blank
Episode Number: 1
Description: A link to the AnimeNewsNetwork or AniDB series page.
- This is helpful, because if we cannot find the AnimeNewsNetwork page, we will probably disapprove it due to the unknown state of licensing.
- The AniDB page usually has a link to the AnimeNewsNetwork page.
- You may also include the title of the episode.
Tags: "..."
- You may leave this blank.
- Alternatively, you can copy use the genres listed by AnimeNewsNetwork for the series or by AniDB if AnimeNewsNetwork has none listed.
- Make sure to change any "Science Fiction" tags to "SciFi"
OVAs/OAVs
OVA vs OAV
OVAs and OAVs are the same thing, just two different ways of expressing it. OVA stands for Original Video Animation, while OAV stands for Original Animated Video. On CR, always use OVA.

Video Type: Anime
Title: OVA #
- Replace # with the number of the OVA you are uploading.
Video Folder: CR OVA title
- Enter the OVA title as it is spelled on CR.
Episode Number: #
- Enter the number of the OVA. If it is OVA 2, enter 2.
Description: "..."
- If it is a replacement, enter the reason for the replacement.
- If it is not a replacement, enter the episode title or leave blank.

New OVA
The Uploading Form
Video Type: Anime
Title: OVA Title OVA - OVA 1
- For example, if the title of the OVA is Afro-Ken, you would input "Afro-Ken OVA".
- Remember, never use OAV, we want to keep consistent.
- If it is an OVA with multiple episodes, input "OVA 1" as your title.
- If it is only a one-episode OVA, input "OVA" as your title.
Video Folder: Leave blank
Episode Number: 1
Description: A link to the AnimeNewsNetwork or AniDB page.

*This assumes that you are uploading a movie in parts, or are replacing a currently existing movie with a better version
Video Type: Anime
Title: "..."
- If you are uploading the movie in parts, the title should be Part #. Of course # should be replaced with the number of the part.
- If you are uploading the movie in one piece, then the title should be "Complete Movie".
- If it is a replacement, follow the replacement guidelines outlined in the guide to uploading a currently existing TV series.
Video Folder: CR Movie title
Episode Number: "..."
- If you are uploading the movie in parts, the episode number should correspond to the part number.
- If you are uploading the movie in one piece, the episode number should be 1.
Description: "..."
- If you are uploading the movie in parts, please write "Final" in the description of the final part so that the mods know when to mark the movie as complete.
- If you are uploading the movie in one piece, leave blank.
- If it is a replacement, include the reasons for replacing the original.

New Movie
Video Type: Anime Title: Movie Title - Part #/Complete Video Folder: Leave blank Episode Number: "..."
- If you are uploading the movie in one piece, the episode number should be 1.
- Otherwise, the episode number should correspond to the part you are uploading.
Description: A link to the AnimeNewsNetwork or AniDB series page.
- This is helpful, because if we cannot find the AnimeNewsNetwork page, we will probably disapprove it due to the unknown state of licensing.

Replacement Policy
A replacement video will only be accepted if it:
- Fixes a corrupted video.
- Has significantly better video/audio quality.
- Has better sub quality (even if it is slight) and video/audio quality is the same or better than original
If your replacement video does not fit any of these criteria, do not upload it!
