Kira Yamato, a young coordinator finds himself trapped in the war between the Naturals (Earth Alliance) and the Coordinators (Z.A.F.T). During the attack of Heliopolis, he finds a proto-type mobile suit code named GAT-X105 STRIKE. He meets up with his old best friend, Athrun Zala, in the battlefield, and he will have no choice but to fight in the midst of battle.
