In the year 1998, a series of canabalistic murders are looked into by the S.T.A.R.S. (Special Tactics And Rescue Squad), a branch of the R.P.D. (Raccoon Police Department). After Bravo Team's helicopter goes down in the Raccoon Forest by the disabled train, the Ecliptic Express (Resident Evil Zero), Alpha Team is sent out to find them. When their 'copter goes down to, they search the area for Bravo. Soon, raving dogs come after them. As they make their way back to the 'copter, the pilot shows why he's called Brad "Chickenheart" Vickers by abandoning them in the forest. With the dogs hot on thier heels, they find an old mansion (the Spencer Estate) and hide inside. From there, depending on who you play as, the story will unfold as it should.

Resident Evil 0 (Prequel) (GCN)
With Resident Evil released in '96, Resident Evil 0 had some time to cook. Released in 2002, Zero took the standard gameplay mechanecs, and threw a curve ball. Now one player controlled two characters. Rebecca Chambers, from RE1, appears as the main protagenist. Ex-Liutenent Billy Coen, an original character, appears as the secondary main protagenist. Together on a 'Survival-First' truce, they fight their way through the Ecliptice Express, a private train for Umbrella Corp. employees, which cuts through Raccoon Forest. After crashing into the station at the Marcus Estate/Research Lab, the two continue the good fight. Through traps and monsters and puzzles, the two start to bond and open up. (SPOILER!!!) Later, it's revieled that Billy was charged for 23 murders because, as a marine, his C.O. gave him and his squad the order to attack a village. (End Spoiler.) After finally escaping, Billy and Rebecca watch the sun rise on a hilltop. She takes Billy's Dog Tags and declares, "Liutenent Billy Coen is officially dead." After that, she goes to the Spencer Estate, hoping to find someone to help her.
