[edit] Origin of the Username
The owner of the username CrashAriMP5N2O used to use a different username called Bruduts_Gruduts for his first account usage, AIM. However, that username is a ludicrous product of his friend from gradeschool pressuring him to make an AIM account. Since "bruduts gruduts" is an artificial term he created and frequently spoken, he went by with that username initially. After careful thinking he decides to change the previous username to CrashAriMP5N2O. The improved username is a composition of 4 terms and they are as follows:
- Crash: Taken from the name of Crash Bandicoot, a wacky character from one of his favorite PlayStation classic adventure games
- Ari: His actual nickname
- MP5: His overall weapon of choice in the popular PC game, CounterStrike
- N2O: Another PlayStation game favorite of his; named "Nitrous Oxide"

History of CrashAriMP5N2O: The Online User
Since the inauguration of CrashAriMP5N2O through AOL Instant Messenger, Crash has had a rich history of online endeavors. Involved with a myriad online communities, Crash is quite the kind of person who has adapted to many circumstances online.
[edit] Beginnings
Ever since Crash moved to the United States in November 2000, his ambition for watching more anime grew. His main channels for watching are KTLA's Kids' WB [1], Cartoon Network's Toonami [2] and Adult Swim, INTL (International Channel or I-Channel) with their primetime anime blocks all week (different series each day)[3], and TechTV's Anime Unleashed[4]. He checks online to note any line-ups and schedule of showtimes. In particular, he frequently checks on the TechTV (TTV) Anime Unleashed (AU) section since out of the four gateway channels, his favorite is TTV because their anime series selection far exceeds the previous 3 channels. It wasn't long until Crash got involved with the TTV community and decided to join the forum, particularly active in the AU section though he was also fairly active in the general forums section.
[edit] TechTV's Anime Unleashed and Bunker City
Using his screenname from AIM, Crash finally makes his first forum user account in the TTV forums in the spring of 2003. Being friendly and sociable as he is, he made a handful of friends in just a few days. Soon he becomes a part of a circle of friends that ultimately formed their own group called Bunker City (BC) lead by DarkMage530 and dawgiedog. The most notable common interest shared by members of BC is the appreciation of the anime series Gatekeepers 21 by Hiroshi Yamaguchi. It's not only a place of Gatekeepers 21 discussion, but doubles to function as a semi-roleplaying thread under the AU section.
Having RPG qualities, Bunker City allows its members to choose a character from Gatekeepers 21 to be their spouse and form a BC family. Taken characters cannot be taken by others so as a result, not many members have an opportunity to have that luxury. Being the leader of BC, DarkMage530 chose Miu Manazuru as his wife. The second-in-command, dawgiedog, chose Ayane Isuzu. Although Crash was one of the original co-founders of BC, he did not take interest in choosing an anime character from Gatekeepers 21 to be his wife despite DarkMage530's advice to take one. Other regular BC members though were able to choose the remaining female characters including Satoka Tachikawa, Yukino Hojo, and Ghost Girl.
Crash has an important, powerful, and honorable position at Bunker City as its major economic and military support. The surplus of capital comes from Crash's Bintong Company, which started out as a small business in 1996 and then as a music and recording company co-founded by the musician, (name cannot be disclosed; the musician also happens to be Crash's big brother after the fact that Crash has successfully gone through his adoption process to live with his new family in the United States), in the summer of 1999. Soon Bintong Company has expanded to other corporations including agricultural, raw materials, and manufacturing corporations, laboratory corporations including the prominent Bintong Labs Ari Products (BLAP), various industrial trades, engineering and inventions, and various other corporations excelling in other trades of the world market. These myriad corporations and industries under the management of the supercompany, Bintong, producess a sales income larger than the gross national product of any country. Most of its excess profits go to humanitarian aid that spans from local aid to worldwide aid.
Bunker City's military support comes from Crash's military called the United Union of the Anti-Soviet Socialist Republic (UUASSR), which was co-founded with his friends at Manresa[5] in early January of 1999. The UUASSR was formed after the arms race in the previous year ended between the Chua-Flordeliza Militia and the Ezpeleta-So Freedom Fighters. Under the Ang-Bumanglag Treaty, the two groups joined forces in the production of military miscellaneous including but not limited to weapons, small armaments, nuclear warheads, battleships, tanks and other combat vehicles, and various other military productions. In the last statistics report in 2000, the UUASSR has produced a total of 3,049 unique military productions. Despite this huge number, only about 1% of the total were introduced to BC for use.
[edit] The Fall of Bunker City and the G4TTV Merge
As the summer goes by in 2003, Bunker City was slowly losing steam. By the end of the year, not much was posted in the BC thread and Crash decides spend less time at the TTV forums for a while. The BC thread was most likely under pages of threads and so Crash took absence before the school year began. After a few months of absence, Crash returns in the Fall of 2003 to check up on TTV. At this time he could no longer find the original BC members and the co-founders. He also lost interest in the forums since the community is just so big already and he would just drown in the sea of random users. He quits TTV altogether and that marks the end of Bunker City. He noticed that the forum layout has changed and he could not use his old account to get back to the forums. He returns early in 2004 and decides to recreate the CrashAriMP5N2O account and stayed for a while. He then learns of the G4TTV merge [6], G4 buying TTV. That explains why everything was changing. He still was able to make a few connections with people in the AU forums though not as much until a new group of people decided to create an InvisionFree forum. Crash was drawn to the new anime-theme forums as well as a bunch of G4TTV members, most of whom carry resentment regarding the merge. This marks the InvisionFree Era for Crash.
[edit] InvisionFree Era
Discontented with the way G4TTV is treating most of the original TTV lineup including Anime Unleashed led some people who mostly hang out in the AU forums to organize and form their own community where anime reigns supreme. The movement was already in motion since April of 2004. Soon there was a thread created within the AU section in June advertising the grand opening of a brand new site of anime forums powered by InvisionFree (IF), which uses a modified version of the Invision Power Board (IPB). Led by a G4TTV member named Sora, the Otaku Army (OA) was formed. Crash became its 12th member, joining in June 19, 2004.
[edit] Building the Otaku Army and Defending It
As the advertising continues in the gateway thread at G4TTV, more and more members are flocking into Otaku Army. To accomodate the growing population of OA the administrator, Sora, began preparations for improving the community. At this time, Sora has appointed Arc the Lad as Commander-in-Chief. General_Sesshoumaru, one of the members at G4TTV who planned the creation of the OA, was also appointed by Sora as a prominent leader though he has taken absence for much of the OA's course of history. He also appointed Sage and kenshin to be co-admins for the site. Crash also managed some campaigns for expanding the OA forums and dubbed it Operation Bob. The operation includes suggestions and ideas for forum layout, forum categories, and forum organization to name a few. Perhaps the most successful joint (and most successful thread in the OA) that Crash created for the OA is his hot springs resort, having accumulated more than 23,500 posts (at its closing in April of 2005) plus thousands more posts from other OA sites (discussed later). After a week or so, there was also a spreading concern of a rival faction in G4TTV. The group was apparently immitating OA and recruiting members as its own. The arms race between the G4-clad faction and the OA resulted in a victory for OA since the faction never blossomed.
As July 2004 hits, the Otaku Army has expanded its ambitious project and began forming its military branches under the Military Divisions Act, including the army, the navy, the marines, and the airforce. Branch leaders were also assigned for each division: TwilightEdge for the army (though General_Sesshoumaru used to hold this title), Sage for the navy (though the position was later given to Mitsuo Yuikihiro), Arc the Lad for the marines, and Skribbles for the airforce. Crash belonged to the army division though he also supplies the entire OA military from his UUASSR arsenal and former Bunker City influence through his facilities in each branch such as the OA Factory, the OA Naval Yard, the OA Barracks, and the OA Starport. Unlike Bunker City, Crash has released much more productions for the OA, which was about 5% of the total UUASSR production. The ranking system was also promoted by Kyukyoku Ryu and other members including Crash, which was based on the number of anime series seen by a member. Members may choose which division they wish to join and the admins edit their PIP just under their avatars and custom titles to read as the division they chose to be in as well as their favorite anime character. Crash was known as Colonel Tasuki, then later changed to Colonel/General Magus, and a final change to General Kratos. Two special divisions were also created that combines two branches and produce specialized members. The Gods of Zeon, led by General Sagara, is the special division bourne from the army and the marines and the Dragons of Heaven, led by jediron169, is the special division bourne from the navy and airforce. Both special forces form an even higher division of elite forces called the OA Spec Ops (later renamed as Shadow Ops) led by musimo. Crash is also a valuable member of the Shadow Ops and holds the position of a ghost specialist operative.
The month of July seems to be rolling by smoothly and a few of the prominent Otaku Army leaders, including Arc the Lad, have taken their vacations and joined the absence of General_Sesshoumaru. The admin, Sora, also decided to take leave earlier in July and appointed his sister, Kanako, as the new admin to replace him due to his obligations running a family business. It was not long until disaster struck the OA and was hacked by a member named Otakon. The entire board was shut down, converted as an offline board, with a mocking message from the hacker. The board was temporarily restored, but the original admins were decommissioned. The former admins then decided to take this opportunity to tell everyone to migrate to a new IF board called Otaku Freedom (OF). There was a great number of members that successfully transfered to OF. At this time, the branch leaders of the military decided to salvage important and prominent information from regularly used threads and other miscellaneous including the ranking system guide, the torrent guides, and much more. Crash did a lot of back-uping to do under the Backup Acts and dubbed two major products as Operation Dunkirk, which is to keep informing members to transfer to the new boards, and Operation Datalinks, which included the transfer of information and thread discussions to the OF. Three days after the restoration of the OA boards, it was shut down again by the hacker and became the 2nd hack. This led Crash to finally write the document The Declaration of Reason and Human Dignity[7], which functioned similarly to the United States Declaration of Independence. It served as the Otaku member's first established document and was archived by the admins.
After a few more days of stay in the Otaku Freedom boards, there has been a huge campaign in trying to reclaim the Otaku Army boards. Conventional methods were decided upon in the hopes of trying to befriend the hacker and quickly turn the tables against him. It turns out that the hacker actually has a personal vendetta on Sora. It was not clear how the OA boards were reclaimed but apparently one of the members was able to bypass Otakon's power over the forums and kick him out of the admin position and restored the original admins. It is believed to be either the work of Yusuke, musimo, or Kyukyoku Ryu. In any case, there was a huge discussion in the case of Oldtimer v. Freedom whether the members should use OA or OF. Half the people felt OA is their home and the other half felt they settled in OF and feel much safer there. However it was soon decided that OA is safe again to dwell in and most of the members were compelled to return. At this time kenshin has appointed CrashAriMP5N2O as the first global moderator of the OA forums, allowing him to mod anywhere on the forums and having admin-like capabilities. Also at this time, Crash began and completed writing the Constitution of the Otaku Army[8], which spelled out more elaborate rules and proper protocols to handle different problems that may exist in the forums.
[edit] InvisionFree Imperialism and the Spread of Crash's Influence
[edit] Stage One
Following the Otaku Army reclamation, several members of OA decided to start their very own InvisionFree forums, most of which revolve around anime still yet having a unique vibe different from what OA is. The creators of those forums still retained connections with the OA community while at the same time actively engaged in their respective communities. The earliest forums that branched from OA via the OA members include the Dead Zone, the RP Fortress[9], the 4 Gods[10], Otaku Strife[11], Otaku Madness[12], and Fortress of Fluffy[13]. Among these forums, only the RP Fortress and the Otaku Madness remain operational. The rest are inactive, shut down, or ceased to exist. Crash became a member of them all and also held global mod position at Otaku Madness and co-admin position at Otaku Strife.
A few other members within the mentioned forums above also created their own InvisionFree forums as well and for the most of them, Crash became a member as well. Crash also managed to spread his hot springs resort, which became a chain after establishing the second one at the former Otaku Freedom. While doing so, he effectively spread the Otaku Army's influence over a wide range of anime-based forums and implemented a few ideas which originated from OA such as member awards ceremonies. OA thus became quite the central hub that ultimately formed a ring of affiliations. It has been documented that Crash joined over 80 forums including those that found OA instead (not branching from OA or from succeeding ones) and those that are outside InvisionFree (explained later). Sometimes treaties are formed between two communities such as the one between OA and the Nation of Safugnoff (later became known as the Abh Nation)[14]. Under such treaties, both communities help each other out by encouraging its members to join the other as well as have proper procedures in dealing with trouble-makers in one community who come from the other community. He also held positions of power in a few of these remote communities. Like the main OA branch communities above, most of them also became inactive, have been shut down, or disappeared altogether. Some of the communities also made several recreations of the forums and transferred its members a few times for reasons that include but not limited to abuses of moderating power, hacking, instability within the community, spammers, and flamers. Finally Crash also managed to get some of his school friends to join in on OA like Saito, TerenceXCore, and ImmortalFlame.
Throughout the course of Crash's involvement with those communities, there have been several instances that Crash withdrew from them altogether for a variety of reasons. Following the events of the 1st and 2nd OA hacks, several problems resided within the OA community that fatigued Crash. Being the helpful person he is, he worked quite hard getting involved with those problems in an attempt to resolve as many as he can along with the help of other people. On top of these, Crash was also dealing with bulky school work especially from AP US History, which required him to type up unit packets that can range between 18 to 26 pages depending on the amount of terms that need to be defined informatively and the questions that need to be answered with lots of references available. Crash was also seen to have been romantically involved with Kanako, the current admin of OA at that time, as seen by members with how they sweetly interacted in the community. There were a few incidents revolving around Kanako that caused quite a bit of resentment among a few members of the OA.
The infamous Massacre Trials invoked mass member banning due to the OA hacks and effectively wiped out a chunk of OA members because a bannable criteria is having zero posts, which a lot of the members in the list have. For the first time, she was afraid that people would turn against her and turned to Crash for most of her comfort since she treated him as a really close friend and that Crash was the only one who would stick up for her. It resulted in her admin powers being revoked as Sora reappeared briefly to take care of that situation. There was also the Warplan Incident and the resulting Warplan Trials. It blamed Kanako for thinking of doing something stupid like planning a "coordinated attack" on the hated G4TTV forums to "reform" it by using means like a virus attack and impersonations. Through the intervention of Crash, it was believed to be pretense and that it was just a game or sport or play; a potential role-play topic, though it turned out to be something that caused a lot of problems for OA. Crash offered his full testimony in her defence for Kanako in his topic: The Final Compromise[15] in an attempt to make her sentence as reasonably light as possible. At this time Crash was really distraught, disappointed, and torn due to his relationship with Kanako as well as his standing reputation among the members of the OA community. He even offered to recieve the ban punishment if Kanako was to be banned for taking part in the "Warplan" thread even if it was just role-playing. He was successful at convincing a number of members to rethink the issues about her punishment but was set back by a turn of event when Sage, a co-admin at the time, stated that her ban is not actually attributed to the Warplan thread but rather the breach of former admin Sora's account and claiming absolute authority over the OA forums as well as spamming a number of people. Prominent members who support this viewpoint included jediron169 and Tohru. Still some members sided more with Crash including Sentios and xtrememan2e, the self-appointed lawyer, and offered speculations as whether or not Kanako was really the one behind this unfortunate incident. A majority of the OA community remained "neutral", including the other co-admin Kenshin (though he was still actively involved with regards to the technical aspects of the case), partly because they were oblivious to the events or because many have such high respect for Crash. At this time Crash has become much more silent as the case spiraled away from the original topic and resulted in a pointless quarrel among members.
At around the same time, Crash was preparing to leave for a while to focus mainly on school and ease the burden of having his time partitiioned greatly. In Crash's "Midnight Judges"[16], just a couple of days prior to the "The Final Compromise", Crash was basically saying farewell and that he wanted to nullify his Declaration of Reason and Human Dignity document and the Otaku Army Constitution because he no longer sees them as a neccessity and that problems can be solved in a more "normal" way and not be so complicated about it. He also wished to reform his global mod position, believing that he may be gone a long time and that he wouldn't be able to mod anyway. Crash offered his official farewells after the Warplan cesspool in his "Finality"[17] and his "Last Stand"[18] to clear up any mess left behind before finally leaving for a while. This marked his 1st "Great Going Forth".
Only a month's length have passed before Crash returned to the Otaku Army. His global mod status was not revoked and resumed work maintaining order there. At this time though, the OA seems to be losing steam as well though not to the extent when Bunker City lost its luster. Stagnations are on and off within OA and it seems OA reached its limit and that its golden age had expired. Still it retained its familiar atmosphere among the remaining active members at the time. At this point, Crash was also thinking of creating his very own InvisionFree forums, the Quadraxis Sanctuary (founded later on in February of 2005), though it didn't really blossom into an active community after a couple of months time have passed. It then became a personal site where he could keep tracks of his history and a junction to other sites as a convenient way for Crash to go places around the net and the myriad forum communities he was a part of. It was also a stage for a precursor to what would later be founded, the Cruxis Organization, and ultimately the formation of the Secret Sentinels (S.S.) and the formation of a super chain-of-command divided into a triumvirate of powers. By the end of the 2004 year, schooling has put another squeeze on Crash that forced him to make a 2nd "Great Going Forth" as well as adopting a "Closed-Door Policy".
